Tell us about your rescue

It takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and your answers save on this device as you go. We build your new site from what you tell us, whether you have a website now or not.

Only questions marked Required need an answer. Skip anything you don’t have yet: that part of the site stays off until you do.

Step 1 of 7

You and your rescue

Who we’ll be writing to, and the basics about your organization.

About you

For example: founder, board president or volunteer coordinator.

This is where we’ll reply.

Their email address. Separate more than one with commas.

Your organization

This is the name we put at the top of your site.

We’ll read it too, so skip any question it already answers well.

Nine digits, like 12-3456789. We use it to check your 501(c)(3) status on the IRS list.

Where you’re based.

Towns, counties or neighborhoods.

What kind of group are you? Required

Pick any that fit.

Step 2 of 7

What you do

Write it the way you’d explain it to a new volunteer. Rough notes are fine: we edit everything for the web, and you see it all before it goes live.

What you do

This is the first thing visitors read.

A few paragraphs is plenty. This becomes your About page.

Your programs

Pick any you run.

Who can use them, when they run, what they cost: whatever people usually ask.

For example, how many cats you fixed or placed last year, and whether that’s from your own records. We only show numbers you give us, so leave this blank if you’d rather not have any.

What the site must say, and must never say

For example: colony locations, foster homes’ addresses, volunteers’ full names. We check every page against this list before anything goes live.

How should your site sound?

Pick up to two.

Step 3 of 7

Help and support

What people can ask you for, and how they can help you in return.

How people get help

For example: help trapping a community cat, a spay/neuter voucher, food, or advice on rehoming.

How should they ask? Required

For example: owner surrenders, dogs, or anywhere outside your area. Saying so up front saves your inbox.

Animal control, emergency vets, other groups. Names and links are perfect.

Supporting you

Givebutter, Donorbox, PayPal, Zeffy, or wherever you take donations now. It stays on your own account; we put it on your site.

Wish lists, a mailing address for checks, sponsoring a cat, donated supplies.

Mailchimp or similar.

Step 4 of 7

Adoptions and your site

How people find your cats, and what your new site should include.

Adoptable cats

Do you adopt cats out? Required
Where are your adoptable cats listed now?

Pick any.

The page where people can see your cats now.

A few lines on how adoption works, from application to going home.

Your site

Which plan fits? Required

Plans are set by the number of pages. Blog posts, events, success stories and adoptable cats don’t count toward it. Compare the plans (opens in a new tab)

Extras you’d like

If something needs a bigger plan, we’ll tell you which one.

Your social media

Links to your pages, for the footer of your site. If something’s missing from your answers, we may also look at your Facebook page for it.

Anything already written we can draw from?

Flyers, brochures, annual reports, grant applications, newsletters. Photos of printed pages work too.

or drag them here

Up to 10 files: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, plain text or images, up to 7 MB each. Like photos, files aren’t kept on this device: if you leave and come back, add them again before you send.

To send files, please email them to rescuerefresh@camaliagroup.com, or share a link below.

To a shared folder or a document online.

    Step 5 of 7

    Look and photos

Your logo, your colors, and your own photos. These do more than anything else to make the site feel like yours.

    Look and feel

The original file is best: SVG, PNG or a large JPG. We take your site’s colors from it.

    No logo yet?

    Logo design is quoted separately.

Names or codes are both fine, like “navy and gold.”

    For example: calm, hopeful, local.

Any kind of site, not just rescues.

    Photos

Your cats, your people at work, your community.

    Your photos

Ideally 15 or more; you can add up to 40. More photos means more to choose from when we design your pages.

    or drag them here

We shrink them to web size before sending. Photos aren’t saved on this device: if you leave and come back, add them again before you send.

You can send 8 photos here. Please share the rest through a folder link below.

Google Drive, Dropbox or Google Photos, for your originals or anything beyond 40 photos. Please set it so anyone with the link can view it.

      Step 6 of 7

      Web address and inboxes

Where your site will live, and where its messages go.

      Your web address

Do you already own a web address (a domain)? Required

A domain is the address people type, like yourrescue.org.

For example: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google or Squarespace. If you don’t know where, just give us the address.

It should be registered in your rescue’s name, so it’s always yours. Our step-by-step guide shows how (it opens in a new tab, so your answers stay put). Or leave it with us and we’ll walk you through it.

Does anyone use email at that address, like info@yourrescue.org?

If so, we set things up so your email keeps working.

      People and inboxes

Up to three people. A name and email for each, one per line.

Help requests, contact messages and any other forms on your site.

Separate more than one email with commas.

      Step 7 of 7

      Review and send

Two last questions, a look over your answers, and you’re done.

      Timing and anything else

For example, before a fundraiser or an adoption event.

      Your answers

A quick look before you send. Use “Change” to go back to any step.

      Before you send

      What happens next

      1. We read everything you’ve sent.
      2. Within a few working days, we email you with any questions.
      3. We build your new site and send you a private preview. There’s nothing to pay for the build.
      4. You have 30 days to look it over, with one round of changes included.
      5. If you want it, we take it live, and your monthly plan starts then. If not, that’s the end of it.

What you send is used to build your site and isn’t shared.
